In addition to the historical house with its breathtaking
views, you will be relaxing in the day spa atmosphere
created by (NY State Licensed) Massage Therapist, Karen
Devine. Karen has over 25 years of experience and
worked at some of the best spas in New York, including
Carapan, The Stone Spa, The Peninsula, and Brooklyn's
beloved d'Mai. At her Italian home she has created a
relaxing day spa atmosphere, with therapeutic massages,
body scrubs, baths in an antique claw tub, and showers in
an outdoor shower facing the incredible view.
This package includes 2 massages!
The wing of the house you will sleep in is Karen's massage studio
area, which converts to a guestroom with 1 large double bed or 2
single beds. That room is connected to your private bathroom
with the clawfoot tub overlooking the mountains.
*There are many, many cats
so if you are highly allergic to
cats, this stay might not be
for you.
Your hosts will be happy to advise you about local restaurants, especially La
Vecchia Scuola, one of the best pizzerias in Italy. Other local attractions include
Caseificio Rosola (parmesan cheese makers visited by Stanley Tucci and Massimo
Bottura in Searching for Italy series), and balsamic vinegar tours at Ca del Non in
Vignola. They can also recommend easy walks around their mountain (often
accompanied by cats), or more challenging hikes. Sergio is a legendary children's
book author and illustrator, and you are welcome to peruse his extensive art
library when visiting. (Just don't spill any wine on the books!)
